I love the new year, I love dressing up in our traditional Hmong outfit and hearing the sounds of the coins hitting each other as we get near the Xcel Energy Center (where the new year is being held). That's when you realized that it's really new year and feels like new year. Almost everyone is in various Hmong outfit with great vibrant colors and designs. I also love how every year everyone comes out with their own designs and some of you might not like the new mix design of the outfit but I love it. I think it's creativity and how artsy it is! (I might be one of them)
Here in St. Paul our new year is only three days and we usually go all three days of two and my mom usually makes me wear Hmong all three or two days but this year due to my working schedule and Mai Nhia and Eb's busy work, we only went on Saturday. My mom made me wear one of my Hmong outfit which means that I did not get to wear my outfit that I worked so hard on. (So sad)
I felt so old standing next to my niece who are all under 20 years of age while ball tossing and it made me feel quite sad and awkward, so I only ball tossed for about 30 minutes and somehow got my family to go get something to eat and we headed to the area where the pageant was happening. That was were I saw, Hnub Lis, helping out one of her Aunt at one of the food booth. She looked like herself, all pretty and skinny. I wondered why she didn't dress up and walked around or something since it is her first new year here in the states. I mean I understand that she is married but I know that there are probably a lot of people who would want to meet her and take a picture or two with her. I SOOOO wanted to talk a picture of her and Eb together, but since she was working Eb didn't want to bother her. Darn it!!!

The rest of the new year was pretty much the same like every year, but I'll get more to it later also with more pictures!
